Job Title: CNC Set-Up Operator (Lathes)
Job Description
The CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Lathe Machine Set Up Operator will help manufacture parts from raw material to completion per blueprint. The Setup Operator will complete production paperwork, as needed, verify product quality by assisting with measurements and inspection steps. Verify raw materials and tooling are staged pre-production and prepare a part for first article inspection.
Responsibilities
Program and set up machine tools according to specifications, tooling instructions, and standard charts.
Read blueprints or job orders for product specifications, such as dimensions and tolerances, tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, and depth of cut, and determine the sequence of operations.
Select, position, and secure tools in tool holders.
Move controls to position the tool and workpiece in relation to each other and set specified feeds, speeds, and depth of cut.
Observe the operation of the machine and verify conformance of the machined workpiece to specifications using measuring instruments such as fixed gauges, calipers, and micrometers.
Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.Essential Skills
Set up experience with Lathe Machines
Proficiency in programming and setting up CNC machine tools
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and job orders
Knowledge of machining methods and tooling instructions
Experience in using measuring instruments such as fixed gauges, calipers, and micrometers

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
