Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Power BI Reporting Analyst to support a high-priority reporting initiative spanning multiple departments, including Finance, Sales, Engineering, Quality, and Purchasing. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in Power BI development, Microsoft SQL, and business analysis to gather requirements, translate them into impactful dashboards, and work alongside stakeholders to deliver insights that drive business decisions.
This is a full-time temporary position (8 months) and is 100% onsite at our Bohemia, NY office. Pay rate is between $40 to $45 per hour depending on experience.
This position requires a U.S. Person or a person who can qualify for a Department of State or Department of Commerce License.
Responsibilities
Design, build interactive Power BI dashboards and paginated reports based on business requirements
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into functional report specifications
Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries using Microsoft SQL Server; experience with Oracle SQL is a plus
Analyze and model data from multiple sources (ERP, Excel, legacy systems) for effective reporting
Validate data and ensure report accuracy and integrity
Migrate or convert legacy reports (e.g., from Cognos or Excel) to Power BI where applicable
Document data models, report logic, and definitions for cross-functional understanding
Support data governance and report lifecycle best practices
Required Skills & Qualifications
3+ years of hands-on Power BI report development (Power BI Desktop, Service, DAX, Power Query)
Strong proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL), including writing complex queries and stored procedures
Experience in business requirements gathering, stakeholder collaboration, and translating needs into technical solutions
Familiarity with Excel, CSV-based data sources, and other BI tools
Strong communication skills and ability to present insights to both technical and non-technical audiences
Organized, self-driven, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Oracle SQL and querying from Oracle-based systems
Familiarity with ERP systems such as Glovia, Infor, or custom systems
Experience migrating reports from Cognos or similar legacy platforms
Knowledge of manufacturing, finance, or operations reporting domains
