We are seeking a highly experienced and strategically-minded
Sr Data Engineer, Operational Intelligence to architect, build, and support our enterprise data infrastructure, with a focus on enabling operational insights and intelligent decision-making. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering, business intelligence, and applied AI, playing a critical role in driving operational excellence across the organization.
You will lead the development of our corporate data warehouse, support enterprise-wide Power BI reporting pipelines and semantic models, and partner closely with Enterprise Technology and business stakeholders to deliver data products and AI solutions focused on forecasting, capacity analysis, and other operations-critical functions.
Key Responsibilities
Data Architecture & Engineering
Design, build, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines, data lakes, and our enterprise data warehouse to support analytics and AI/ML use cases.
Ensure robust data governance, data quality, and lineage across the platform.
Business Intelligence & Analytics Enablement
Lead the development and optimization of Power BI data models (semantic layer), datasets, and dataflows to empower self-service analytics.
Partner with analysts and business stakeholders to design intuitive and high-performance reporting layers.
AI & Applied Data Science Collaboration
Serve as the key data engineering liaison to the Enterprise Tech and Data Science teams.
Co-develop and support deployment of AI/ML models focused on forecasting, capacity management, workflow optimization, and predictive analytics for operations.
Skills
Familiarity with ML Ops and data science tooling (e.g., Azure ML, Databricks, MLflow).
Knowledge of Python and scripting for data pipelines or model support.
Exposure to forecasting, demand modeling, or capacity planning models.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field. Masters degree preferred.
7+ years of experience in data engineering, BI architecture, or related roles.
Proven experience building and managing modern data warehouses (e.g., PowerBI, Snowflake, Redshift, Synapse, BigQuery).
Advanced proficiency in SQL and data modeling (both physical and semantic).
Hands-on experience with Power BI or similar BI tools and building semantic models.
Strong experience with ETL/ELT tools (e.g., dbt, Azure Data Factory, Airflow).
Experience supporting or working alongside AI/ML teams, with a solid understanding of model deployment and operationalization.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, particularly in cross-functional or matrixed environments.
Experience in operations-heavy or healthcare/MedTech environments a plus.
