About the role

The Facilities Engineer is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of all manufacturing and support equipment at the facility, either directly or by services subcontracting to outside support. This individual shall perform troubleshooting and repairs on various machinery and equipment as needed and recommend improvements within these areas. Supported facilities machinery and equipment list includes, but is not limited to: HVAC, lighting, power, compressed air, Nitrogen and Hydrogen delivery systems, DI/RO and cooling water systems, gas handling, acid neutralization systems/sumps, zone refiners, crystal pullers, saws, grinders, laser scribers, single-sided and double-sided polishers, emergency generator, fume/exhaust systems, and building access control.

Key Responsibilities;

Assist management in contractor oversight of facility projects.

Coordinate facility projects and other tasks independently or with a team, from planning through to completion.

Plan/organize/manage impacts of projects to the organization, ensuring broad communication.

Continuous reporting on project progress to management and impacted areas.

Participate in meetings as needed; able to clearly communicate needs and status to others.

Conduct work in a safe manner with minimal risk.

Minimize impact to production from facility equipment failure.

Perform facilities monitoring, maintenance, and repairs with minimal impact to manufacturing.

Monitor operational and maintenance costs of facility equipment, recommend improvements.

Conduct routine operational checks on facilities building systems and equipment.

Identify and perform preventive maintenance operations per established tracking schedule.

Repair or coordinate repairs to maintain continuous operation of equipment.

Maintain an equipment database to improve management of facilities functions.

Maintain an organize documentation system of equipment.

Identify and select equipment and parts for facilities projects.

Order supplies and maintain inventory of facility related materials.

Install, modify, and maintain building infrastructure to optimize working environment.

Maintain current facilities drawings.

Ensure work is conducted in accordance with documented procedures.

Create and modify document procedures as needed.

Implementation of corrective and preventative actions.

Complete training identified in training checklist (operations and safety).

Participate in training as needed to improve effectiveness.

Track Facilities cases, communicate status to all impacted areas.

Manage Scheduled PM on all HVAC, Water and mechanical systems as needed

Coordinate hazardous waste management activities including collection and storage of hazardous waste as well as coordinating hazardous waste pickups.

Participate in Facility Emergency Response Team as a potential point of contact for response due to fire or gas alarm.

Maintains detailed, accurate, and timely work records.

About you

Qualifications in engineering or technical field are desirable

5+ years of prior experience in maintenance and facilities preferred.

Mechanical and Electrical engineering experience

Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.

Ability to read mechanical drawings, specify replacement parts to suppliers/subcontractors.

Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Verbal communication skills necessary for effective interaction

Writing skills necessary for creating manuals, SOPs, and other documentation.
