Systems Application Engineer

A leading energy company is seeking a System Application Engineer to support and optimize plant operations applications. This role involves managing application performance, coordinating system integrations, and working with internal teams and external vendors to support key operational processes. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and a background in industrial or plant-focused IT systems—particularly within energy, oil & gas, or manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Administer and support plant operations applications, including user provisioning, system integrations, and vendor management.

Collaborate cross-functionally to gather requirements, document system enhancements, and support application testing and deployments.

Monitor integrations between plant control, IT, and corporate systems; troubleshoot issues and ensure system availability.

Oversee master data governance, system patching, and compliance with internal IT security standards.

Write and maintain application SOPs and documentation for configurations, workflows, and system updates.

Participate in architecture design, application development, and implementation of enhancements for SaaS and cloud-based platforms.

Ensure data consistency, system performance, and reliability across multiple environments.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

2–5 years of IT application support experience, preferably in oil & gas, energy, or plant operations.

Experience with SAP S/4 HANA, SaaS applications, and cloud environments such as Azure or AWS.

Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and technical documentation skills.

Familiarity with system integration, industrial software tools, and plant maintenance processes.

Excellent collaboration and communication abilities across technical and non-technical teams.

Proven ability to manage multiple applications and projects in fast-paced environments.
