A leading agriculture company based in Salinas is seeking a Financial Analyst to join their team on a direct hire basis. The Financial Analyst will be responsible for forecasting, budgeting, and in-depth variance analysis. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the financial health of the business by supporting strategic planning, evaluating financial performance, and identifying areas for operational improvement.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-term financial models.
Conduct variance analysis to compare actual results to budgets and forecasts, investigating key drivers of deviation.
Partner with operations, production, and sales teams to understand business trends and provide financial insights.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, presenting findings to senior management.
Analyze pricing, costs, and other variables to support planning and profitability analysis.
Track and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable recommendations.
Support cost analysis, inventory valuation, and capital expenditure planning.
Assist with scenario modeling and sensitivity analysis to inform business strategy and risk management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree is required.
Minimum two years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in agriculture, manufacturing, or a related industry, but industry experience is not required.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and experience with ERP systems and SQL.
Solid understanding of financial statements, forecasting techniques, and variance analysis.
Excellent analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across departments.
