As an Infrastructure Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Enterprise Technology - Mainframe team, you utilize strong knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Apply your technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies across multiple applications of moderate scope.

Job responsibilities

Applies technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope, with a focus on improving the data and systems running at scale, and ensures end to end monitoring of applications

Resolves most nuances and determines appropriate escalation path

Executes conventional approaches to build or break down technical problems

Drives the daily activities supporting the standard capacity process applications

Partners with application and infrastructure teams to identify potential capacity risks and govern remediation statuses

Considers upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications

Be accountable for making significant decisions for a project consisting of multiple technologies and applications

Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on infrastructure disciplines concepts and 2+ years applied experience

Software development experience in one or more general purpose programming languages: JCL, REXX, zOSMF Workflows

Experience working with two or more from the following: web application development, database, Unix/Linux environments, distributed and parallel systems

Understanding or have experience with agile and lean philosophies

Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills with clear communication

Ability to collaborate with different roles to achieve common goals

Familiarity with RESTful APIs using Swagger (or similar framework)

Working experience with CICS systems programming experience in a mainframe z/OS operating system and experience on USS (Unix System Services), CICS TS – Installation and Migration, SVC and Transaction dump debugging, CICS Performance Tuning, CICS-related ISV tools - Mainview, Abend-Aid, Expediter, Configuration Manager, CAFC, SYSB II and Merva

Experience working on IBM Program Product installation – SMP/e (Software Management Program/ extended)

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

BS/BA Degree

Ability to think creatively to deliver solutions through continuous improvement
