We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting dairy equipment to ensure efficient and smooth operations. This role requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a strong commitment to minimizing downtime in a fast-paced dairy environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspect, maintain, and repair tractors, trucks, and implements involved in cropping, dairy operations, and manure handling.

Work with the operations manager and vendors to source parts necessary for repairs and maintenance.

Collaborate with operations to prioritize projects.

Conduct routine preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and enhance equipment longevity.

Assist with the installation and setup of new equipment as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

Previous experience as a mechanic in a dairy or agricultural setting preferred.

Strong knowledge of diesel engines, tractors, and heavy equipment in general

Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical systems.

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.

Welding and fabrication experience is a necessity.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and on-call availability during harvest.Company Description
