We're Hiring for Our Client: Mechanical Project Engineer — Ashland, VA
Our client, based in Ashland, Virginia, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to join their team and take on a critical role in designing and managing custom hoist and bridge systems. This is a great opportunity for an experienced engineer who thrives in a hands-on environment and enjoys seeing their work come to life on the shop floor.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and approve hoist and bridge components selected for project estimates.
Design and detail hoist and bridge packages using SOLIDWORKS—strong SOLIDWORKS experience is highly preferred.
Provide technical support to estimating and sales teams.
Serve as Project Manager on assigned jobs, overseeing projects from concept through completion.
Review and interpret specifications, submittals, and customer requirements.
Communicate with customers as needed to clarify technical details or project scope.
Support shop personnel with real-time engineering input during fabrication.
Lead engineering design and detailing of custom machinery projects.
Coordinate job packages to ensure seamless processing in the shop.
Provide accurate technical documentation to facilitate order fulfillment.
Identify and report discrepancies between estimated and engineered elements to management.
