Senior Software Engineer

Job Description

Trenchant Analytics is seeking a results-oriented Senior Developer with a firm understanding of Next.js and PostgreSQL. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for designing high-quality, efficient, and maintainable code. An interest or experience in exploring creative side projects is highly desired as we value innovation and unique problem-solving skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Designing, developing, and testing web applications using Next.js, React, and PostgreSQL.

· Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.

· Using proven software development methodologies to ensure the system requirements are met.

· Conducting code reviews, test case reviews and ensuring that high standards of code quality are maintained.

· Leading team meetings and stand-ups and assisting in strategizing project roadmap and work estimation.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a related technical field.

· Proficient understanding of Next.js and React.

· Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL. Experience with other database technologies is a plus.

· Experience using OpenAI API or other LLM integration methods.

· Proven experience or track of record as a senior developer.

· Experience with modern front-end build pipelines and tools.

· Strong understanding of software testing principles.

· 3-8 years of experience.

· Eligibility to obtain a U.S Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience using tRPC, shadcn, Tailwind CSS, Drizzle, Vercel, or Microsoft Azure are desired.

· Excellent teamwork skills, flexibility, and ability to handle multiple tasks.

· Exceptional problem-solving skills.

· Innovative thinking and the ability to learn quickly.

· Previous experience working in an agile development environment.
