Description

As a Senior/Staff Tanks Integration Engineer, you will be responsible with developing processes for dome, structures, and tank integration.

Helios is Impulse's new vehicle, a 3rd stage/kick stage. Launching in 2026, it is designed to take satellites & payloads to GEO for faster & cheaper than today's capability.

Responsibilities

Own Helios tank builds through final integration

Build, organize, and manage a multidisciplinary schedule to drive delivery of the tanks on time

Work and communicate effectively at a technical level with numerous teams across propulsion, avionics, structures, software, test, and manufacturing

Work with Responsible Engineers to solidify proper manufacturing and integration processes

Develop & optimize manufacturing processes, procedures, and specifications for tank integration & supporting structures

Own the entire manufacturing life cycle for assigned projects & hardware

Work directly with technicians and machinists to produce high-quality hardware

Work directly with outside vendors, including periodic visits to those vendors

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline

5+ years of demonstrated experience of developing manufacturing processes from scratch

Ability to work in a fast paced, autonomously driven, and demanding atmosphere

5+ years of demonstrated experience integrating, designing, and/or building an aerospace, industrial, chemical, or material manufacturing process

Preferred Skills and Experience

Masters' degree in an engineering discipline

9+ years' of demonstrated hands-on integration experience within aerospace

Experience using Siemens NX, SOLIDWORKS, or similar CAD software

Familiarity with industrial control systems (such as PLCs) and test automation

Excellent written and oral communication, especially translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences

Demonstrated hands-on mechanical experience: welding, automotive, pumps/valves, rocketry, etc.

Demonstrated experience with spacecraft, propulsion systems and aerospace hardware

Experience with 3 or more of the following manufacturing/integration processes:

Metallic or spring-energized seals in cryogenic environments

Vehicle/subsystem functional checkouts and testing (i.e. pneumatic, electrical, proof & leak)

Installing ESD-sensitive components & instrumentation

Cleaning and maintaining hardware cleanliness for propellant service

Fabrication/final assembly of spacecraft insulation and/or other thermal protection systems

Additional Information:

Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
