Electrical Engineer

Location: Huntsville, AL

Our client in the defense sector is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to join their engineering team. This role plays a key part in designing and developing cutting-edge electro-mechanical systems for military applications, supporting the full product lifecycle from concept to deployment. You’ll work hands-on with cross-functional teams to ensure system reliability, performance, and compliance with defense standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop control and power distribution systems for defense applications

Create detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and harness designs

Generate and maintain wire lists and support documentation for military-grade systems

Use SOLIDWORKS and AutoCAD to design electrical layouts and 3D enclosures

Collaborate with mechanical and systems engineers to ensure complete system integration

Assist in the development of digital circuits, component selection, and interface design

Interface with military-standard communication buses such as RS232/422/485, CAN bus, LVSB, and Ethernet

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution

Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, ideally within the defense or aerospace industry

Proficiency with PDM/PLM systems (e.g., SOLIDWORKS EPDM)

Experience with ERP/MRP software (e.g., SAP)

Proven ability to develop control systems, electrical schematics, and wire harnesses

Familiarity with PCB design and defense-grade components is a plus

Must be a U.S. Citizen or Naturalized Citizen (required for military and defense projects)

Strong analytical and documentation skills

Comfortable working in a secure, multidisciplinary team environment under strict compliance standards
