Summary:

We are looking for an IS Technical Specialist to join our Homerun team within the Enterprise Technology organization at Huntington. This role is a key contributor to our core modernization journey, enhancing SOAP build on DataPower, IIB/ACE technologies to convert to REST API’s using APIGEE, zOS Connect, Spring Boot, Java, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). As a IS Technical Specialist, you will work on enterprise-scale APIs that support critical customer-facing and internal applications across the bank.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Analyzes, designs, and develops systems based upon user specifications.

Design, develop, and deploy scalable microservices using Spring Boot and Java.

Leverage GCP services to build cloud-native solutions, ensuring performance, security, and reliability.

Possesses an in-depth knowledge of and works with the technical tools available for systems development and support.

Maintains and demonstrates knowledge of technical industry trends, particularly as they apply to Huntington.

Collaborate with product owners, architects, and other cross-functional teams to deliver well-integrated APIs.

Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and contribute to best practices and coding standards.

Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring high availability and resilience.

Mentor junior developers and actively participate in knowledge sharing within the team

Maintain proper documentation for developed components and APIs

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree

5+ years of hands-on experience in software development within an enterprise environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong programming skills in Java and proficiency in Spring Boot framework.

Strong programming skills in DataPower, IIB and zOS Connect.

Experience developing RESTful APIs and working with microservices architectures.

Working knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including services like Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, or GKE.

Experience with APIGEE, CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

Experience working in a multi-platform environment.

GCP certification or formal GCP project experience in a production environment.

Experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.

Familiarity with API management platforms such as Apigee.

Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Financial services industry experience is a plus.

Strong analytical, strong troubleshooting skills and excellent communication skills

Strong interpersonal skills, focus on customer service, and the ability to work well with other IT, vendors, and business groups.
