2nd Shift Machine Operator

Job Description

Summary: Operates machines requiring a normal amount of skill, to change the shape or conditioning of new materials.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Observes operation of machine and verifies conformance of machined part to specifications using the "In Process Check Sheet" (Green Sheet)

Checks for any Quality Alerts in their respective areas (Light Booths)

Follows the Production Control Board for run quantities

Keeps area clean and clutter free

Recognize when minor program adjustments are required

Ability to make minor adjustments to program for machine to correct part fitment or appearance

Performs quality checks as per the "In Process Check Sheet" (Green Sheet)

Follows Daily Operating Plan for the machine which includes Safety and Mechanical checks

Ability to understand and apply expectations to the operation of the machine

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Ability to speak, read and write in clear English in positive or negative situations; Edits work for spelling and grammar; Varies writing style to meet needs Listens and gets clarification; Responds well to questions; Participates in meetings

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations or other employees of the organization.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved or oral instructions.

Physical Demands.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear, frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and /or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The work schedule for this classification is full-time. Incumbents must work a full-time (30) hours or more per week schedule.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to non-air-conditioned areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate where hearing protection is necessary based on OSHA requirements. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
