HiFyve is hiring a PLC & Instrumentation Technician in the food and beverage industry in Zumbrota, Minnesota!

Salary: $35$45/hr

Shift: Day shift

Location: Zumbrota, Minnesota

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, repair, and adjust PLCs, HMIs, and field devices.

Maintain and repair power and motor control systems, including frequency drives.

Diagnose and resolve equipment issues causing downtime or inefficiencies.

Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance.

Monitor and test PLC devices and their connections to ensure proper functionality.

Conduct regular safety inspections and maintain compliance with regulations.

Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track asset performance and maintain inventory levels.

Assist with the installation and setup of new equipment and utilities (compressed air, water systems, refrigeration, etc.).

Provide technical support and training for other technicians and operators.

Maintain clear communication with other departments and management regarding equipment status.

Stay updated on new technologies and continuously seek process improvements.

Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety, and sanitation guidelines.

Education Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Trade school or technical training in industrial automation, electricity, PLCs, or related fields preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

4 to 6 years of industrial maintenance, electrical, or PLC experience in a manufacturing environment.

Expertise in PLC control systems, power distribution, sensors, transmitters, and electromechanical systems.

Basic knowledge of boilers, air compressors, ammonia refrigeration, and wastewater systems.

Ability to read blueprints, ladder logic, and equipment specifications.

Skilled in electrical troubleshooting, motor wiring, and system repairs.

Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.

Ability to work independently on complex projects from planning to installation.

Proficiency in CMMS and other maintenance tracking systems.
