Academic Success Coach & Learning Community Coordinator

The Academic Success Coach & Learning Community Coordinator will play a key role in fostering student success by independently managing and overseeing the daily operations of existing learning community programs while also assisting in the development of new initiatives. This position will work closely with the director and, in some cases, campus partners to design and implement programs that support student retention and academic achievement.

This position is located on the Newark campus in Newark, Ohio.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the delivery of special projects aimed at increasing student success and retention.

Develop, implement, and evaluate student-centered programs, including individualized learning interventions, presentations, and workshops tailored to diverse student populations.

Coordinate meetings and outreach efforts to teach academic and personal success strategies, inform students about university policies, and connect them with essential resources.

Develop curriculum and teach Learning Communities arts & science courses in Autumn and Spring semesters.

Provide support to academically at-risk students and those facing urgent or extenuating circumstances, determining appropriate interventions to foster their success.

Manage Learning Communities student academic peer coaches on the coordination of Learning Communities activities and peer mentor outreach.

Design, deliver, and assess individualized development programs to support student growth.

Engage in research to identify gaps in student success and retention, contributing to the redevelopment of existing initiatives or the creation of new programs.

Additional Information:

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree; program and experiential learning planning and administration; experience working with college students; knowledge of university policies, rules and regulations; excellent communication and presentation skills; strong experience with Microsoft Excel. 4 years of relevant experience required.

Desired Qualifications

Master’s Degree in higher education or related field; experience in manipulating, analyzing and reporting student data; coordinating student programs across units and external stakeholders desired; 4-8 years of relevant experience preferred.

Target Salary Range

$43,900 - $57,750/year.
