The full-time hygienist at The Ohio State University Total Health Care Center performs general dental hygiene duties including but not limited to periodontal scaling and root planing, pediatric dental care, patient education, exposing radiographs, instrument maintenance, supply maintenance, ensures appropriate HIPAA/OSHA compliance, accurately documents visit information and treatment plans in the patient's electronic health record, provides appropriate follow up for all outside referrals, ensures operatory is kept clean, communicates appropriately with on-site provider, management and clerical staff.
Minimum Education Required
Associates or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene, Dental Hygiene licensure in the State of Ohio and CPR/BLS required at all times throughout employment; 0 years of clinical experience.
0-2 years of relevant experience preferred. License to administer and monitor N2O2 and administer local anesthesia preferred. Qualified to practice under limited supervision also preferred. Experience and knowledge of a wide variety of dental instruments and procedures; experience with electronic health record, computer literacy including Microsoft Office/Excel preferred. Experience providing complex periodontal therapy preferred.
