VMware Engineer

The position will pay an hourly rate of $67.50/HR 1099. We also offer the option of working on a W2 basis at an hourly rate of $60/HR or annual salary of $120K with full benefits and PTO. This position is onsite but may allow for a hybrid work schedule after the initial orientation period. VMWare Engineer

Location: Merrifield, VA 22082

Pay Rate: $67.50/HR 1099, $60/HR or $120K W2

Notes: Remote work is not being considered. It is expected that the selected candidate would be able to work from home at least a couple of days of the week but it is manager discretion.

Job Duties

The VMWare Engineer will provide support to the client’s program, and other designated systems. The technical resource shall be capable of performing work in the areas of virtualization, system infrastructure design, development and maintenance, technical documentation, and expert technical assistance for the client’s program and other designated systems as detailed below:

Administer and manage the VMWare virtualization environment at Merrifield, VA, and other client sites.

Plan, Design, Build, test and implement new VMWare virtual environment.

Provide system administration support to Windows, Linux, and other systems.

Provide tier two system level support to VMs, physical servers and ESXi host etc.

Interact with Vendor to perform system support functions.

Interface with the internal client teams to provide support.

Job Requirements

A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in the following areas:

Installing and setting up ESXi cluster using either version 6.x or 7.x

Managing and maintaining the ESXi environment using the vCenter 6.x or 7.x.

Ability to write scripts using the VMWare CLI and PowerShell utilities to automate setup and management activities in the ESXI environment 6.x or 7.x.

Managing large ESXi environment 6.x or 7.x using vCenter to

Create, clone, snapshot, maintain, backup and restore VMs

Create and manage datastore and virtual networking

Manage and maintain ESXi servers

Managing and supporting Servers, storage, and network

Experience in setting up Site Recovery Manager is desired

Excellent verbal and written communications skills

Preferred Job Requirements

Working experience with vRA or vCloud

Experience with other hypervisors such as Hyper-V, VirtualBox etc.

Any certification with VMWare ESXi management
