Job Description
Job Title: PLC Travel Technician
We are seeking a skilled PLC Travel Technician to troubleshoot and repair existing machinery that is not performing to specification or is completely shut down due to malfunction. This role requires 70-80% travel and involves utilizing hand tools, power tools, and troubleshooting equipment to diagnose and make repairs. You will be responsible for mechanical and electrical repairs on high-speed automated production machinery, working primarily with various PLCs, especially Beckhoff.
Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning machinery to ensure it meets performance specifications.
Travel to various sites, spending 70-80% of the time on the road.
Utilize hand tools, power tools, and troubleshooting equipment for diagnostics and repairs.
Perform mechanical and electrical repairs on high-speed automated production machinery.
Conduct hands-on repairs at manufacturing facilities and occasionally onsite at local customers.
Work with various PLCs, with a focus on Beckhoff.Essential Skills
PLC troubleshooting and maintenance
Mechanical and electrical repair experience
Field Service Technician experience
Experience with electrical controls, including Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Beckhoff PLCs
Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints
Experience with conduit wiring, installation, and industrial serviceAdditional Skills & Qualifications
5+ years of hands-on mechanical and electrical repair experience
Proficiency in PLC troubleshooting

Work Environment
Work in a smaller manufacturing facility with a total of 38 people, which is continuing to grow and expand. The role involves day shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Field positions require significant travel, with technicians spending 70-80% of their time traveling to various sites across the country, often for 2-3 weeks at a time. Salaried personnel who incur excessive hours are compensated with extra PTO and bonuses. Our client specializes in manufacturing high-speed unit sortation systems for a variety of warehousing and distribution applications, including e-commerce order fulfillment, buy online, pickup in store, returns processing (reverse logistics), postal sorting, kitting, central fill, and more.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
