Job Title: Bander Operator

Job Description

The Bander Operator will be responsible for handling finished skids from the mill, determining necessary packaging or coverings, and covering the skids accordingly. The role involves operating a sit-down forklift to place skids in the rack and locate them. Additionally, the Bander Operator will cut longer panels into shorter panels, band and nail crates together using a nail gun, and assist with running Quadro products and condenstop as extra material handlers.

Responsibilities

Take finished skids from the mill and determine appropriate packaging or coverings.

Operate a sit-down forklift to place skids in the rack and locate them.

Cut longer panels into shorter panels that are shorter than mill capabilities.

Band from horses or on a roller table.

Band and nail crates together using a nail gun.

Assist with running Quadro products and condenstop as extra material handlers.

Perform general labor tasks in a warehouse setting.

Enter data into a computer on a regular basis.

Operate a forklift in a safe manner.Essential Skills

Forklift operation certification.

Experience in warehouse, production, or general labor roles.

Ability to perform general production and shipping & receiving tasks.

Proficiency in sheet metal fabrication and banding.Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with fabrication, shipping & receiving.

Proficiency in general production and labor tasks.

Work Environment

The work environment is a standard manufacturing shop that is fairly clean but can get dirty due to the metal shop operations. The team consists of 10 year-round employees, with up to 12 contractors hired during the summer. Regular working hours are from 7am to 4:30pm, but candidates must be willing to work from 7am to 5pm or until the job is done during busy summer periods.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of SAINT JOSEPH, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
