Position: Electrical Engineering Manager
Location: Aurora, Colorado
Salary Range: $140,000 – $170,000, commensurate with experience
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Senior Electrical Engineering Manager to lead the design and development of electrical systems for modular data centers, power modules, and customized modular solutions. This leadership role combines technical expertise with team development and strategic project management, supporting innovation and operational excellence across all phases of design and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of electrical systems for modular solutions, ensuring technical excellence and innovation.
Manage and mentor a team of electrical engineers, cultivating a collaborative, growth-oriented, and high-performance culture.
Train engineering staff on industry best practices and internal lessons learned, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure electrical design cycles align with project schedules and budgetary targets.
Interpret customer requirements and specifications, guiding the selection of appropriate electrical equipment and components.
Provide technical leadership during design reviews and cross-functional collaboration, ensuring quality and compliance with industry standards.
Support supply chain operations through vendor qualification, component evaluation, and procurement alignment.
Engage directly with customers and vendors to ensure that all electrical designs meet functional and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with preconstruction teams to support accurate cost estimation and assess design feasibility.
Work in partnership with manufacturing to address and resolve electrical design or production issues.
Support the submittal process, ensuring timely and complete documentation of electrical materials.
Perform system load calculations, short circuit analysis, and voltage drop assessments to ensure design integrity and code compliance.
Contribute to the development and achievement of departmental goals and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Ensure compliance with all applicable electrical and building standards, including NEC, NFPA 70 & 70E, and IBC.
Apply principles of Lean Manufacturing and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) to streamline design and production processes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
Licensed electricians with an engineering degree are strongly encouraged to apply.
10+ years of experience leading electrical engineering teams within construction, modular manufacturing, or related sectors.
Experience in the design of data centers, power modules, or critical power distribution systems is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineering professionals, fostering a culture of technical excellence and accountability.
Deep understanding of electrical power systems, controls, and low voltage systems.
Proficient in electrical design software, including AutoCAD and Revit (or equivalent tools).
Extensive knowledge of applicable codes and standards including NEC, NFPA 70 & 70E, and IBC.
Proven track record in electrical calculations including load analysis, fault current analysis, and voltage drop.
Strong communication, project management, and problem-solving skills.Company Description
