Project Details: We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer with a strong background in cloud-based data pipelines, Java microservices, and data platform migrations. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to support data migrations, build scalable data tools, and ensure smooth transitions for customers moving to our next-gen platform.

Data Engineer

Excellent opportunity for a candidate with a strong background in cloud-based data pipelines, Java microservices, and data platform migrations. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to support data migrations, build scalable data tools, and ensure smooth transitions for customers moving to our next-gen platform.

Candidates will need to be highly motivated, creative, self-directed, and thrive in small project teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Dataproc, BigQuery, and Dataflow.

Collaborate with teams on data migration projects, moving customer data to a new cloud-based platform.

Develop and maintain Java and Spring Boot-based microservices supporting the data engineering ecosystem.

Work with DevOps tools like Jenkins for CI/CD and Datadog for monitoring and alerting.

Build internal tooling to support platform operations and ensure data integrity during migration.

Partner with product and platform teams to deliver robust, efficient, and secure data solutions.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production and development environments.

Write clear technical documentation and contribute to best practices in engineering standards.

This is a 6 month contract opportunity with the option to extend or convert at the end of the contract. Candidates can sit hybrid in St. Louis, MO working 3 days/week onsite. Successful candidates have a high level of initiative and thrive in a fast paced, enterprise environment.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Proven experience in data engineering and java development.

Hands-on experience with Dataproc, BigQuery, and Dataflow.

Strong programming skills in Java and experience with Spring Boot.

Experience building and deploying microservices architectures.

Solid understanding of cloud computing concepts and architectures.

Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins and monitoring tools like Datadog.

Experience working on data migration projects is a strong plus.

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

Must be authorized to work in the US. Sponsorships are not available.
