AWS Cloud Engineer, Leading Financial Institute (Hong Kong)

Our client is seeking a Cloud Engineer for our Hong Kong team. The successful applicant will be responsible for understanding business problems and proposing new cloud-based architecture designs. They will work closely with both functional and technical team members to ensure the smooth operation of our AWS cloud platform.

Responsibilities

- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to assess business requirements and design cloud-based solutions

- Establish operational guidelines for managing cloud infrastructure effectively.

- Troubleshoot and address complex technical challenges across cloud environments, on-premises systems, and third-party integrations.

- Oversee the migration of enterprise workflows to cloud-native platforms utilizing advanced technologies.

- Develop automation scripts to streamline and enhance operational processes.

- Design and implement custom cloud applications by utilizing native cloud services.

- Maintain detailed documentation and provide support for continuous cloud operations.

- Implement and evaluate disaster recovery procedures to ensure system robustness and reliability.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent professional experience

- 2+ years of proven expertise in cloud system design and deployment

- Deep knowledge of cloud platform functionalities, particularly AWS

- Hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g., Lambda, CloudWatch, EventBridge, Step Functions)

- Proficiency in scripting (Python preferred) and application development (e.g., Java, C#, Node.js)

- Strong analytical skills for independent troubleshooting and issue resolution

- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese

- Adept at creating technical documentation, including process flows and maintenance guides

- Thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment within a small, agile team

- Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills and client-facing experience

- Passionate about adopting new cloud technologies and analytics solutions
