The Middle School Social Studies Teacher is a dynamic and inquiry-driven instructor who is dedicated to fostering student curiosity, growth, and achievement. The Middle School Social Studies Teacher works in collaboration as part of a 7th & 8th grade team consisting of Math, English Language Arts and Science teachers.

Flexibility to adapt instruction in the moment to meet student needs in an inquiry-driven space.
Ability to create and adapt unit plans using provided curricular resources such as Reading Considered, Choices, and other self found programs
Implementation of accommodations and modifications.
Co-plan, co-instruct, and co-assess with diverse learner teacher(s) and other staff to deliver accessible, standards-based instruction to individual students, small groups, and the whole class
Interest in working collaboratively and reflecting on practices to improve instruction for all students.
Exhibit a high level of professionalism
Ability to create and adapt unit plans using provided curricular resources such as Savvas and Reading Considered.
Strong organizational skills and a commitment to using data and assessment to drive instruction.
Familiarity with best practices in Dual Language education and make cross-linguistic connections.
Willingness to consistently manage student behavior employing school-wide system.
Experience preparing students to take the Constitution Test
Ability to use a variety of engagement techniques to promote student learning.
Dedication to actively engaging parents in educational advocacy for their children.
Qualifications:
Illinois PEL with Middle School ELA Endorsements
Spanish fluency required
2+ years of relevant experience in content area instruction preferred
