Position Summary
The Communication Studies Department at Indiana University South Bend invites applications for adjunct (part-time) teaching positions in the undergraduate program. Several adjunct positions for traditional in-person sections are available for the Fall 2025 semester. Additionally, Curriculum Vitae’s will be retained as the search for adjunct lecturer positions is conducted on a rotating basis. If a candidate is selected for consideration, they will be contacted and invited to an interview for the position. A qualified individual can teach up to three of our three-credit courses per semester. We are seeking qualified instructors to teach our SPCH S-121 Public Speaking course. IU South Bend is the third largest campus in the Indiana University system and serves the north central Indiana community. The Public Speaking course provides students with the opportunity to enhance their public speaking and communication skills campus-wide as this course fulfills the required General Education Oral Communication requirement. The Communication Studies Department faculty through this course strive to expand students’ understanding and skills in communication areas such as presentation, ethics, listening, critical thinking, collaboration, non-verbal communication and professionalism.
