Job Summary

Manages the day-to-day operations of a school cafeteria serving over 1000 meals per day in accordance with the department policies and procedures. Performs the duties of food service staff whenever needed to stay on schedule with students' meal breaks.

What you will do

Determines staffing needs and supervises cafeteria employees to ensure department is operating in accordance with policies and procedures.

Supervises employees, trains new employees, prepares and conducts annual employee reviews, and mediates and resolves employee disagreements.

Prepares weekly and monthly reports; takes inventory; prepares food and supply orders, cash records, milk & ice cream reports, and commodity usage forms. Approves time sheets to ensure proper documentation of the cafeteria’s operation.

Coordinates school breakfast and lunch programs; administers school meal benefits programs, and answers parent/guardian inquiries regard these programs ensuring that federal nutrition guidelines are being met.

Compiles daily “sales” data, prepares daily bank deposit slips, and makes daily bank deposits.

Submits work orders and repairs to ensure a safe working environment for employees.

Plans promotions and marketing of services and events.

Keeps current with federal, state and local regulations related to school nutrition services.Education Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED Required Experience Qualifications

Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in quantity food preparation including one years’ experience supervising others and the successful completion of the Manager Intern Training class Required Licenses and Certifications

Current ServSafe certification Required Equivalency

Starting At: $23.84

Salaries are determined by factors relevant to the position which may include education, experience, and other qualifications. Final compensation decisions are made at the discretion of MNPS in alignment with organizational policies and procedures. The stated salary range for certificated teaching positions is calculated based on 201 days and should be viewed as a reference. All provided salary ranges serve as a general guideline.
