The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry within the College of Arts and Sciences, seeks a Post Doctoral Scholar to perform independent research in RNA biochemistry. Post Doctoral Scholars are expected to lead analyses critical to the tRNA processing and modification research program in the Jackman laboratory and to take initiative in contributing to the design of biochemical and enzymology experiments. Duties will include taking and analyzing data, presenting results at conferences/workshops, writing manuscripts to publish results in peer-reviewed journals, contributing to the tRNA biochemistry program, assisting with extramural funding proposals, mentoring students and supporting group activities through collaborative service work.

Required: Doctoral Degree in Biochemistry with specialization in RNA and enzymology or related area required. Demonstrated experience in RNA biochemistry required.

Desired: Research interest in enzyme function desired.
