About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team in the construction industry. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard. You will work closely with the project manager and other team members to ensure that projects are completed on time and to the highest quality standards. Your attention to detail and ability to read and understand drawings will be essential to your success in this role. You will be working in extreme environments and must be able to pull objects up to 50lbs, climb ladders and work on rooftops. This is a full-time position with a 40-hour workweek.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Proven experience as a Carpenter
Ability to read and understand drawings and blueprints
Ability to work in extreme environments
Ability to pull objects up to 50lbs
Ability to climb ladders and work on rooftops
Ability to work a 40-hour workweek
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in carpentry or related field
Experience with equipment operation
Experience working on commercial construction projects
Responsibilities:
Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard
Read and interpret drawings and blueprints to determine project specifications and requirements
Measure and mark cutting lines on materials, using a ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge
Install structures and fixtures, such as windows, frames, floorings, and trim, or hardware, using carpenter's hand and power tools
Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures
Skills:
As a Carpenter, you will use your skills in reading and understanding drawings, working in extreme environments, pulling objects up to 50lbs, climbing ladders and working on rooftops, and operating equipment on a daily basis. Your attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively with other team members will be essential to your success in this role. Additionally, your ability to measure and mark cutting lines on materials, install structures and fixtures, and inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures will be critical to ensuring that projects are completed to the highest quality standards.
