Position: Local CDL Shuttle Driver/ Forklift Operator

Shift: 11:00 pm -7:00 am

This is a hybrid position that will include primary work as a CDL Driver and secondary work as a forklift operator at either our 60th facility or Calumet location. We estimate that 70% of the time will be spent as a CDL Driver and 30% will be operating a forklift.

The person will be moving trailers between our facilities as well as moving trailers into and out of doors and the yard at our facilities during third shift. They will be loading and unloading trailers with a forklift during the time that there are not moving trailers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned

CDL Driver

Responsible for the safe and proper operation of company equipment in accordance with all safety rules and regulations, and for maintaining clean operating condition of the equipment (truck and trailers hygiene)

Responsible for daily equipment pre and post trip inspections and the completion of all compliance and incident reporting documentation in compliance with DOT regulations.

Stays in contact with supervision in transit and upon reaching destination for further instructions.

Will be responsible for shuttling trailers between various Sellars locations.

Logistics Associate

Demonstrate personal safety and help maintain a safe work environment for themselves and fellow members of the Logistics team. Responsible for following all company safety rules and guidelines.

Ensure quality standards and workmanship standards for Sellars products are met on a continuing basis.

Understand and fully comply with the Sellars’ concept of “move to the work.” This means ensuring all tasks required to operate efficiently.

Load and unload trailers in a safe and efficient manner.

Keep the warehouse (and facility) clean, organized and efficiently maintained.

Prepare Finished Goods for shipment to customers (domestic and international) using the appropriate methods, forms and/or documentation.

Maintain, organize, and coordinate the movement of Raw Materials, Work in Process, and Finished Goods though facility (using FIFO methods, as required).

Ensure inventory accuracy of RM and FG.

Knowledge and Skills Required

Requires safe driving history

Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License

Valid Class A CDL

Ability to problem solve (identify problem, define root cause, develop alternative solutions and select and implement most effective solution) required.

Good interpersonal and teamwork skills. Demonstrate ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Education and Experience Required

Previous over-the-road driving experience preferred.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Position requires constant walking, standing or sitting.

Must be able to get on and off of equipment with ease.

Occasional bending and kneeling.

Must be able to lift and carry of up to 60 pounds.

Must be able to climb in and out of truck cab multiple times per shift.

Employee will spend time performing some job duties outside.
