Job Description:
Dispatcher will oversee a fleet of truck drivers, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with company policies and federal regulations. This role demands excellent communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
Assign and schedule drivers to routes based on delivery requirements and driver availability.
Communicate with drivers to provide instructions and updates throughout the day.
Monitor and track the progress of deliveries, addressing any issues or delays.
Maintain accurate records of driver logs, delivery times, and route details.
Collaborate with customer service to address and resolve delivery-related inquiries.
Ensure compliance with all safety and DOT regulations.
Analyze and optimize route efficiency to reduce costs and improve service levels.
Coordinate vehicle maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime.
Analyze and improve fleet performance metrics to enhance operational efficiency.
Enforce safety protocols and conduct regular safety meetings and training.
Address and resolve HOS or safety-related issues promptly.
Provide support in case of emergencies or unforeseen situations.
Requirements
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED; associate degree in logistics or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in dispatching or a related field.
Strong communication and multitasking skills.
Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
