We are currently seeking a talented individual to become a Network Security Engineer. An individual could be successful if they possess the following.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Security Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust network security measures to safeguard our organization's critical information and digital assets. The Network Security Engineer will play a crucial role in identifying potential vulnerabilities, mitigating risks, and responding to security incidents to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our network infrastructure. This job includes the following essential duties:

Design and implement network security solutions to protect the organization's network infrastructure, data, and systems from cyber threats, unauthorized access, and breaches.

Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify and address potential weaknesses in the network architecture.

Monitor network traffic and security alerts to detect and respond to security incidents promptly. Investigate security breaches, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that security measures are integrated into all phases of network design, implementation, and maintenance.

Configure and manage firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, VPNs, and other security appliances to enforce security policies and safeguard network traffic.

Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques to proactively identify and address emerging threats.

Develop and maintain network security policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure compliance with industry regulations and organizational standards.

Provide technical expertise and guidance to internal teams regarding security best practices, secure coding, and configuration management.

Participate in the incident response process, including containment, eradication, and recovery efforts during security breaches.

Collaborate with third-party vendors and service providers to ensure the security of externally hosted applications and services.

Assist in the design and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity plans related to network security.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or foreign equivalent.

Total of 4 years’ progressively responsible experience in a Network Security Engineer or a similar role, with the following specific experience:

At least 4 years’ experience with security assessment tools and techniques, as well as penetration testing methodologies;

At least 3 years’ experience in firewall technologies, intrusion detection/prevention systems, VPNs, authentication protocols, and network access control;

At least 3 years’ experience in configuring and managing network security appliances and software solution with an understanding of Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol, DNS Protocol, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol, and routing protocols.

Experience with cloud security and virtualization.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate security risks effectively.

Excellent communication skills to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and convey complex security concepts.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment.

Strong commitment to maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the latest security trends, vulnerabilities, and mitigation strategies.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job does not have supervisory responsibilities.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.

Must be able to pass a background check.

Must be at least 21 years of age.
