Machine Shop Hand

Cardinal Staffing is immediately hiring for a Hydraulic Cylinder Technician/Machine Shop Hand in Brownstown, MI.

We are looking for a mechanically skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Machine Ship Hand, focused on hydraulic cylinder repair and rebuilding.

This role involves hands-on work, including disassembly, inspection, and reassembly of hydraulic components.

Ideal for someone who understands how mechanical systems work and enjoys seeing machines come back to life.

Available shifts include 1st shift: 7:30am-4:00pm M-F, $25=$29/hr*STEEL TOES REQUIRED* Responsibilities:Disassemble hydraulic cylinders and related components, using proper tools and methodsInspect cylinder components (barrels, rods, glands, pistons, seals) for wear, damage, or failureIdentify and measure parts for repair or replacement, using calipers, micrometers, and other precision toolsMaintain accurate records of work performed and parts usedKeep work area clean and organized; follow safety and shop protocols at all times (5S)Learn as you go, from current staff and foreman Qualifications:Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on repair skillsExperience working with hydraulic cylinders, fluid power components, or similar mechanical systems is preferred, but not required - can be taughtAbility to read and interpret mechanical drawings and repair specificationsFamiliarity with hydraulic tools, torque specs, and sealing technologiesMust be able to life 50+ lbs, use hand tools and power tools, and stand for extended periodsFamiliarity with micrometers and calipersWork Environment:Demonstrate good communication skills, problem-solving skills, and sound judgement.
