Affinity FCU is seeking an experienced, innovative Applications Solutions Architect to join our team! The solutions architect will be responsible for designing and implementing technological solutions to address complex business needs. The selected candidate will work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements, assess technical challenges, and craft tailored solutions that align with the company's strategic goals. They will play a pivotal role in translating business objectives into technical architectures, ensuring scalability, security, and integration across platforms and systems.

The solutions architect will create the overall technical and strategic vision, and be responsible for cataloging, developing, coordinating, communicating, maintaining, and enforcing overall architecture models, representations, initiatives, capabilities, and components to adequately perform the day-to-day Affinity Federal Credit Union’s business and technology activities.

The architect will find ways to solve business problems and will connect these solutions with the overall technical and strategic vision. The architect should be able to bridge communication between business and IT and ensure everyone is aligned in developing and implementing approved technical solutions.

This role will be part of the systems development and architecture team and will provide solutions and strategies for solving problems, while working with the development or configuration team overseeing the implementation of the solution designed.

The architect should be detail-oriented and whose responsibilities will include improving the current IT infrastructure, optimizing business operations, and setting the direction and approach for integrating information across applications.

The architect will provide technical leadership, analytical experience, and consultation. Must possess strong communication skills, help Affinity better understand best practices around advanced cloud-based solutions, and provide advice on strategies for migrating existing implemented workflows toward more modern approaches.

The architect will have to obtain in-depth knowledge of AFCU’s systems within and outside their domain so they can “connect the dots” and provide the most efficient and effective solution for the company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Reporting – ability to provide project, resource, quality, risks, issues, decisions, and financial status reporting in a consistent manner

Analytical skills - highly analytical with experience in utilizing analytical approaches for project reporting; should have a detailed understanding of data analysis and manipulation to make decisions

Influencing skills – ability to influence others, some of whom may show initial resistance to drive meaningful change results and be a contributing member of the project team

Problem-solving skills - demonstrate the ability to lead multiple teams that identify key issues, gather data to investigate those issues, and develop actionable recommendations. Able to maintain point of view in the face of resistance

Time management skills – ability to prioritize tasks and balance competing priorities to make commitments; ability to be flexible in adapting to changes in priorities, assignments, and other interruptions, which may impact pre-established timelines and courses of action for completing projects and assignments

Change management skills - ability to partner closely with other members of the IT and business units on project prioritization and change control

Service Transition – ability to document the tasks and activities to be performed to efficiently transition the project from the implementation phase to the maintenance phase

Implementation Experience: Experience implementing technologies throughout the full project lifecycle is required.

Working experience of video collaboration toolsets to facilitate working sessions remotely

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to operate in a collaborative environment

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Information Technology-related field with a minimum of 7-10 years' of related experience

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of 8 years’ experience in software development, data architecture, integration architecture, and/or implementation consulting.

Experience in providing solution diagrams in Lucid Chart, Visio, etc.

Have achieved certifications from Microsoft, Salesforce, and/or TOGAF.

Understanding of data models and documentation

Experience delivering technology solutions within agreed-upon timeframes and on multiple projects simultaneously.

Ability to design solutions that integrate with core domains and drive enablement of new digital channels and experiences.

At least 3 years of experience with large cloud providers (Azure, AWS, GCP, Salesforce, Oracle)

Experience working with an Agile Scrum team.

Understanding of release management and CI/CD systems (Azure DevOps, Gitlab, etc.)

Ability to work with development, QA, business analysis, networking, and infrastructure teams.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Financial and credit union banking experience

Experience with banking capabilities (Payments, Lending, etc.)

Experience with core banking solutions (FiServ DNA)

3+ years’ experience in Azure

Ability to present a vision for the future of the end-to-end banking solution

3+ years' experience with Salesforce

5+ years' experience with integration patterns (ETL, point-to-point, pub-sub, webhook, data virtualization)

Experience with information security leading practices and requirements

Experience with Enterprise Architecture and repositories

Ability to work in a highly segmented, team-based organization

Skilled communicator and negotiator with exceptional written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills

Ability to forge relationships and become a trusted advisor with personnel of various levels and responsibilities
