Swiss Machine Operator & Programmer

Job Type:Full-Time

Pay: $28 to $35/Hour

Shift: Day Shift

We are seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Swiss Machine Operator and Programmer to join our precision manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the complete setup, programming, and operation of Swiss-style CNC machines (e.g., Citizen, Star, Tsugami) for a variety of complex components. This role requires a high level of independence, technical expertise, and a detail-oriented mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

• Independently program, set up, and operate Swiss CNC machines to manufacture precision parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.

• Develop and optimize CNC programs using G-code or CAM software.

• Perform initial setup and changeovers including tool selection, offsets, and fixture setup.

• Inspect and measure finished parts using precision tools (calipers, micrometers, CMM, etc.) to ensure conformance to tolerances.

• Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues, ensuring minimal downtime.

• Maintain equipment and perform routine preventative maintenance.

• Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to refine processes and ensure production efficiency.

• Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and job travelers.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Swiss CNC machine operation and programming.

• Proficient with Swiss-style lathes such as Citizen, Star, Tsugami, or similar.

• Strong ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and use precision measuring instruments.

• Experience with programming software such as PartMaker, Esprit, or similar is a plus.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in machining or related field preferred.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in medical, aerospace, or high-precision manufacturing industries.

• Familiarity with ISO or AS9100 quality standards.

• Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
