Job Summary: Under the supervision of a senior technician or supervisor, the Mechanical Systems Technician ensures the uninterrupted operation of mechanical systems and equipment. This role involves structural welding, inspecting, testing, installing, fabricating, modifying, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing rotating equipment and systems. Rotating equipment includes, but is not limited to, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, belt drives, blowers, and fans. The technician also fabricates structural steel components such as ladders, handrails, brackets, anchors, frames, animal pens, and gates. Additionally, the technician responds to emergency situations, evaluates, and corrects defects.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform tasks to ensure the continuous operation of mechanical systems and equipment.

Conduct structural welding and fabricate structural steel components.

Inspect, test, install, modify, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair rotating equipment and systems.

Respond to emergency situations and evaluate and correct defects.

Assist other trades as needed.

Adhere to all safety practices and procedures.

Clean and maintain work areas and equipment.

Attend meetings and complete documentation accurately.

Provide a high level of customer service.

Communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors through written, electronic, and verbal methods.

Operate department vehicles.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Information:

Shifts, hours, days, and/or location are subject to change based on operational needs in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.

May be required to work overtime and be subject to 24-hour emergency call.

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma/GED or equivalent education and experience.

Six months' experience in maintenance or machinist trade, or equivalent.

Proficient with tools and equipment.

Valid driver's license.

Successful completion of probationary period.

Desired Qualifications:

Associate's degree, technical degree, or vocational certificate in a skilled trades or maintenance-related field.

Boiler operator’s license (e.g., low pressure, high pressure).

Valid OSHA 10-hour General Industry Safety and Health card.

Pay Range and hours:

The Targeted Hiring Range for this position is $21.80 - $27.25 per hour.

Work schedule of Monday-Friday from 7:00am-3:30pm.
