We are seeking a Registered Nurse-Medical-Surgical for a travel assignment in Evansville Indiana.

Additional Assignment Details: Observation MS/Tele RN - Nights - Deaconess Midtown (Auto Offer) Location Requirement: No local candidates within a 40-mile radius Contract Length: 13 weeks Start Date: May 5 (bi-weekly orientation) Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week (option for 48 upon request) Shift: 12-hour nights, 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM Primary Location: Deaconess Midtown Float Requirement: Must be willing to float within skillset to Deaconess Newburgh (IN, 8 miles away) and potentially to Deaconess Henderson (KY, 11 miles away). Two-hour notice given for cross-campus float. Mid-shift floats may occur within the same campus. Cross-campus mid-shift floats are unlikely but possible. On Call/Call Back: Not applicable Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Three weekends in each six-week schedule; every other holiday Required Certifications: Active compact license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS (must be attached at time of submission) Minimum Experience: At least two years of strong Med/Surg experience, one prior travel assignment, and trauma level II experience Charting System: Recent experience with EPIC required (checkoff class mandatory) Patient Population: Cardiac (chest pain, stress test/Lexiscan, post-cath without intervention), CVA/TIA, hypotension, post-surgical, acute kidney injury, detox/CIWA Skillset Required: Telemetry, 12-lead EKG interpretation, cardiac cath recovery, post-surgical care (e.g., appendectomy, cholecystectomy, kidney stones), NIHSS, neuro assessments, dysphagia screening, initiation and titration of Heparin and Insulin drips, drain management, tracheostomy care, chest tubes, blood administration/documentation. Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills. Looking for hardworking, adaptable, and personable candidates. Scrubs: Navy blue (no competing health system or agency logos) Important Notes: Three call-ins may result in termination Teaching hospital – may require precepting students or new hires Unit Details: 19 beds. Nurse-to-patient ratio: Days 1:4-5; Nights 1:6-7. Charge nurse also takes a patient assignment. Unit Culture: Traveler-friendly, strong teamwork.
