Bookkeeper / Part-time
Temp to Hire
Hours: in-office, part-time 10-25 hours/week.
Pay: $25-$30/hr
Law office is searching for a part time bookkeeper with previous experience working in the for profit sector.
Position Overview: The Bookkeeper will play a key role in supporting the law firm's financial operations, overseeing tasks such as accounts receivable billing, accounts payable, reconciliations, and depositing funds. In addition to these core bookkeeping duties, the bookkeeper will also be responsible for coordinating the preparation of monthly financial reports for the firm. Utilizing Clio (practice management software) and QuickBooks Online (accounting software), the bookkeeper will accurately record transactions and generate standard financial reports.
The ideal candidate will be proactive in learning about the firm’s operations and systems, collaborating effectively with both internal team members and external parties, such as the Firm's tax preparer and financial consultant. A key aspect of the role will be helping to streamline and build processes that improve the firm’s efficiency and effectiveness.
This is an in-office, part-time position. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle bi-weekly bank deposits
Prepare monthly client invoices, research, and respond to client billing inquiries
Report on aging receivables, and follow up with clients regarding outstanding balances
Maintain accurate categorization of transactions
Prepare monthly account reconciliations
Coordinate with staff on advancing client costs, payment of hard costs, other billing and accounting inquiries, as necessary
Manage invoice approvals and check signing
Pay e-bills in a timely manner on various vendor platforms
Prepare monthly timekeeping and financial reports
Assist with payroll/benefits oversight and tax documentation, as necessary
Assist with firm accounting and tax compliance
Other projects, as needed
Qualifications:
3+ years bookkeeping experience, legal industry preferred
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Excel, and various accounts payable platforms
Knowledge of accounting and IOLTA guidelines
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work well independently
Associate’s degree in accounting, business, or a related field required
Experience with Clio, legal time entry and billing software, preferredCompany Description
