Job Summary:
The Chef at La Stella will oversee all aspects of kitchen operations to deliver high-quality, innovative cuisine that reflects the restaurant’s unique style. This role involves menu development, staff management, and ensuring strict adherence to food safety and quality standards—all while creating a memorable dining experience for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Menu Development:
Create and refine menus that showcase seasonal ingredients and innovative culinary techniques.
Design signature dishes that align with La Stella’s brand and culinary vision.
Kitchen Management:
Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, including food preparation, plating, and presentation.
Manage kitchen staff through effective training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
Delegate tasks efficiently to ensure a smooth workflow during peak service times.
Quality Control & Food Safety:
Ensure every dish leaving the kitchen meets high-quality standards in taste, appearance, and consistency.
Maintain rigorous standards for cleanliness and food safety, complying with all health regulations.
Monitor and control food costs and inventory, placing orders as needed while minimizing waste.
Collaboration & Innovation:
Work closely with the restaurant management team to create special menus, seasonal promotions, and private event offerings.
Stay current with industry trends and continually innovate to keep the restaurant’s offerings fresh and competitive.
Customer Experience:
Engage with guests when necessary to receive feedback and ensure satisfaction.
Adapt and modify dishes based on guest preferences and dietary requirements.
Qualifications:
Must have Italian cuisine experience.
Proven experience as a chef or head chef in a high-volume, quality-focused kitchen.
Culinary degree or equivalent certification is preferred.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
Experience in Italian cuisine
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
In-depth knowledge of various culinary techniques, food preparation, and plating.
A passion for creativity, quality, and continuous improvement in the culinary arts.
Work Environment:
Fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative kitchen environment.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by restaurant hours.
Physically demanding role requiring prolonged periods of standing and the ability to work in a hot, high-pressure environment.
