Job Description

Volt is immediately hiring a Manuel Machinist for a manufacturing company in Santee Ca.

As a Manuel Machinist you will:

Responsible for producing high quality parts under minimal supervision from start to finish for marine, industrial and military clients

Set up and operate manual knee mill such as a Bridgeport or equivalent for milling, drilling, and boring operations.

Adjust vertical adjustable knee to support worktable and allow precise control over cutting depth

Read the real-time Digital Readout (DRO) to ensure accurate X,Y,Z axes are positioned for cutting

Set up and operate Manuel Lathe for turning operations and shaping materials

Be able to operate Manuel Lathe with or without DRO

Responsible for creating custom custom tooling, soft jaws etc.

Read and interpret mechanical drawings to determine the raw materials needed and machine processes that will be followed

Use various materials such as steel, stainless, aluminum, titanium and plastics

Inspect finished product to ensure customer specifications are met

Occasionally operate forklift to move product This is a full-time opportunity

The ideal candidate will have:

3+ years of experience with manual lathes and mills.

Proficiency in reading technical drawings (GDT&T).

Skilled in using manual knee mills, lathes, horizontal/vertical bandsaws.

Knowledge of hand tools like taps and dies.

Familiarity with inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers).

Strong communication and basic math skills (e.g., bolt patterns, angles).

Experience with tool sharpening and grinding.

Experience operating forklift

Adherence to shop safety practices and common sense.

Ability to pass a drug test and background check.Schedule: Monday to Friday 1st shift (Flexible)

Days Off: Saturday/Sunday

Pay: $25-29 per hour

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
