Job Description

Lead the CNC programming role, including training, coaching, monitoring, and providing feedback for improvement and problem resolution from the standpoint of CNC capabilities. This role involves 75% programming and 25% operating to mentor and show three junior machinists the ropes. Perform various machinist duties including set-ups, machining, and quality control checks as needed. Improve the CNC programs (CNC machines, EDM machines, etc) by debugging old programs, rewriting old programs, and/or adjusting with new tools and speeds. Support and prepare documents/reports as needed or requested within ERP software, PDM software, JobBOSS software (or similar), including inventory management.

Responsibilities

Lead CNC programming, including training and coaching junior machinists.

Carry out machinist duties such as set-ups, machining, and quality control checks.

Improve CNC programs by debugging, rewriting, and adjusting with new tools and speeds.

Support and prepare documents/reports within ERP software, PDM software, and JobBOSS software.Essential Skills

Training and/or certification in CNC machine operation.

Experience in CNC programming, including (3-Axis).

1+ year EDM set-up, operating, and programming experience.

3+ years of experience with Mastercam and Solidworks.

Continuous improvement mindset with a strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools and principles.

Working knowledge of standard inspection tools.Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with Mill, Setup, blueprints, EDM, Mastercam, Solidworks, Haas, GD&T, Milling, Lathe, and Prototyping.

Ability to mesh well with others in smaller working areas.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

We are a leading producer of steel horseshoes for the North American market, focusing mainly on riding and sport horse segments. The facility is average in size and runs 5 lines, each consisting of a robot that manufactures horse shoes, with 1 Operator, 1 Supervisor, and 2 Leads per line. The CNC machines are located in a smaller area, requiring good teamwork skills. The shop environment can be cold in winter and hot in summer, depending on the shift and specific areas.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Forest Lake, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $79000.00 - $83000.00/yr.
