Your future role within QRT
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Infrastructure Operations Team Lead to oversee the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and support of our primarily Linux-based infrastructure. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strong leadership and communication skills, ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our systems.
A key member of the infrastructure support team working with our high-performance Linux based trading and research platforms
Good working knowledge of the financial trading industry
Advocate of robust change control procedures and processes
Act as an escalation point for infrastructure issues and incidents
Post incident management (postmortem, c-level RFO generation)
Ability to work closely with the wider infrastructure team (e.g Network Operations Centre) to effectively manage and troubleshoot issues, in addition to delivering infrastructure projects to the business
Building, administering, upgrading and supporting QRTs Linux estate
Contribute to monitoring and automation initiatives
Work with engineering teams to document and improve process
Develop and enforce operational best practices and documentation (runbooks, disaster-recovery procedures etc.).
Some out of hours work will be required as well as participation in an on-call rota (typically performed remotely).
Experience of python, bash scripting.
Lead and mentor team of Linux Infrastructure Engineers
Requirements
2+ years of experience is similar team lead role along with minimum 10+ years system engineering in high availability trading environment.
Hands-on experience working with Linux based platforms
Excellent Linux administration skills essential
Knowledge of RedHat, Centos
Experience of complete end to end server deployments
Working knowledge of AMD / Intel server hardware and physical components
A drive to get to the bottom of issues and perform a full root-cause analysis along with managing expectations of priority business users
Good problem solving, communication and analytical skills
Excited about technology and a willingness to learn more
Team-player
Working knowledge of server network stack, network protocols (e.g. TCP, UDP), LAN and WAN technologies)
Demonstrable experience of the use of automation technologies (e.g. Ansible)
Manage monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes using tools like Nagios, Prometheus, Zabbix, or similar
