Neets Bay Hatchery: Seasonal Camp Cook
The Southern Southeast Regional Aquaculture Association (SSRAA) has an opening for a Camp Cook at the Neets Bay Hatchery. The position will begin July 3rd and will run through October. The Neets Bay Hatchery is a large, remote, three species salmon hatchery located approximately 30 air miles North of Ketchikan, AK.
The ideal candidate must be able to cook and manage a small dining hall for up to 10 employees, 6 days a week. Knowledge of meal planning, prep, cooking cleaning and ordering to a budget is necessary. The position requires providing a minimum of lunch, dinner 6 days a week and break time snacks during the egg take season. Breakfast is to be made available for self-service. Those days that are not worked it will be expected that food will be made available for self-service during designated meal and break times. This position requires living on-site in a shared bunkhouse environment. Weekly mail/grocery flights are provided, and free Wi-Fi. There are also ample fishing/hunting/wildlife viewing opportunities as time allows.
A monthly salary of $4,098 is provided with an end of season bonus upon completion of the employment agreement.

Requirements:
Summary of Position: The Camp Cook will be responsible for preparing and providing meals for up to 10 staff at the Neets Bay Hatchery during the eggtake season 6 days a week. This role requires a commitment to maintaining a sanitary kitchen environment and ensuring that meals are available on schedule as determined by management and that meal preparations are available for employee self-service during designated times.
Responsibilities & Duties:
· Coordinate with site manager to place pre-season and weekly grocery orders for delivery
· Prepare and serve lunch and dinner six days a week, along with break time snacks.
· Ensure breakfast is available for self-service.
· Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen in compliance with health and safety standards.
· Prepare food in advance for days off to ensure availability during designated meal and
break times.
· Ensure food is available for self-service on days when not working.
Skills & Abilities Required:
· Previous cooking experience, preferably in a camp or remote setting.
· Strong organizational skills and ability to manage meal preparation efficiently.
· Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and meal requirements.

Physical demands: Position requires on a regular basis physical/repetitive work, the ability to stand for long periods of time and strength enough to lift and carry 50 lbs.
Work environment: Will require work both outside in inclement weather when receiving supplies and within a camp kitchen environment for meal prep. Must be able to travel by float plane to access work site.
