QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate must have a minimum of one year of front office experience in a medical office or healthcare setting.

High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge preferred.

Previous experience in collecting money is preferred.

Requires knowledge of insurance rules and regulations, medical terminology, HIPAA Guidelines, and computer scheduling systems.

Must be able to communicate effectively with Providers, patients, and the public and capable of establishing good working relationships with both internal and external customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Responsible for preparing new patient paperwork, identifying, and collecting co-payments, co-insurances, and past-due account balances.

Screens upcoming and follow-up appointments for required referrals and/or authorizations; ensures all required referrals and/or authorizations are scanned into the patient’s chart and attached to the correct appointment(s).

Responsible for maintaining a secure and accurate cash drawer, ensuring the cash box always has the prescribed amount. Responsible for daily balancing of cash drawer and closing batch.

Maintains general knowledge of insurance plans accepted by The CORE Institute.

Maintains strictest patient confidentiality.

The Front Office Representative is responsible for greeting and acknowledging all new and returning patients.
