Job Description
General Summary of Duties: To schedule all new and returning patients. Scheduling will
include patients in the clinic as well as those on the telephone.
Supervision Received: Supervision and reporting is from Clinical Coordinator of that
specific physicians department.
Typical Physical Demands: Involves minimal physical requirements, sedentary working
conditions, also requires normal visual acuity and hearing.
Typical Working Conditions: Work in a clinical office environment with frequent telephone
contact from patients.
Skills and Abilities: Must be able to communicate effectively in a very professional and
courteous manner, ability to work in stressful situations, excellent organizational skills and a
professional attitude.
Principal Duties:
● Books, and reschedules new/established patient appointments for all non-operative
sports medicine physicians based on established templates.
● Possesses a keen ability to communicate with patients and process them into the
system in an expeditious manner.
● Strong leadership ability with a significant emphasis on interpersonal skills with
prospective patients and with co-workers.
● Coordinates additions to daily schedules.
● Answers questions regarding patient appointments.
● Help prepare clinic charts.
● Take care of all VISCO precerts.
● Precert MRI when not urgent.
● Send completed dictation to the Business Office.
● Actively participate in efforts to improve total office performance.
● Maintains patient confidentiality.
● Adheres to policies and procedures.
● Any function deemed necessary and appropriate by management.
● Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Licenses, Certifications or Education Requirements: High School Graduate or equivalent.
Full-time
