OVERVIEW:
The Extrusion Operator's primary role is to set up, operate, and maintain plastic extrusion equipment in the manufacturing of custom and complex medical tubing.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Set-up, tear down and operate full range of extrusion equipment such as extruders, dryers, water tanks, pullers, puller/cutters, conveyors, winders crossheads, air injectors, etc.
Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to Supervisor.
Maintain and monitor extrusion line activity; where necessary adjust to hold specified tolerances.
Utilize various types of measuring equipment and tools to ensure items conform to exacting dimensional requirements.
Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
Maintain all quality standards.
Move materials as necessary in performance of duties.
REQUIREMENTS:
Previous extrusion experience is strongly preferred.
Must be able to lift 50+ pounds.
Must be able to read blueprints.
Basic math skills - able to calculate gross, tare, and net weights.
Must have good interpersonal and communication skills.
Must have good documentation skills.
Must have strong attention to detail.
Must have the ability to work well with others in a team environment.
