I. Function Summary
Responsible for operating the molding line. To properly execute different types of molds up to the company’s quality specifications. Also responsible for operating melters and tempering units as well as recording critical quality information throughout the shift to ensure the operation is running within specified parameters regarding appearance, weight, and tempers. Not only focusing on the exterior of the chocolate product, but also maintaining weight and temperatures of centers of the candies.
II. Job Functions:
Work in a safe and efficient manner.
Properly identify the correct molds for the order of the day.
Paying attention to detail is key.
Always maintaining a watchful eye on the line incase one of the molds becomes loose.
Depending on the filling for the molding, making sure that all the ingredients are available.
ZERO cross contamination allowed, especially with peanut products.
Always follow the SFQ and GMP guidelines.
Determine by regular inspections, the repair and maintenance necessary to prevent breakdowns.
Maintain and record all critical quality information (Temperatures, Weights, temper of chocolate).
Report any needed repairs immediately to shift manager and maintenance technician.
Using our ERP system (ROSS) issue and return raw material to production jobs as needed.
Work with a can-do attitude and what can I do to help mentality.
Work with sanitation when orders are complete for the day to properly sanitize the machinery for future orders during the week.
Make necessary repairs on equipment where maintenance is not needed.
Assist maintenance and sanitation associates with making equipment or product changeovers.
Assist department manager with production scheduling and associate assignments.
Initiate purchase orders for parts or supplies needed in department.
Always use the Microsoft Teams application to keep packing and demand planning informed of any issues that could result in downtime.
Maintaining proper temperatures and weights of the centers of all molded products.
Not only responsible for the chocolate filters, but also responsible for the magnetic chocolate filters that need to be changed monthly.
If time allows, cleaning of the molding line and the depositors is expected of the operator. Unless needed in other areas.
Assisting the cook if needed or have time to help. Working with confectionery cook as a cohesive team. Requirements:
I. Authority
1. The ability to oversee production and shutdown production if the product does not reach the company’s quality standards.
2. To oversee hourly employees on what specifics they should be looking for in regard to the quality of the product.
II. Performance and Accountability
1. Before starting production on an order verify: correct chocolate, chocolate is within the specified temper and weight ranges, and ALL material is issued to the job.
2. Pay attention to details.
3. Record all data on an hourly basis while maintaining a cleanly production area.
III. Qualifications
1. High School or GED equivalent education
2. 1-3 years in a manufacturing operation lead position
3. Must be proficient in math abilities. (Addition, Subtraction, Division, Multiplication)
4. The ability to walk on hard surfaces for 8 hours at a time, along with being able to lift 50lbs.
Full-time
