Position Summary

We are seeking a Quality Inspector II to oversee and support quality efforts on our swing shift (2:30 PM 11:00 PM). This hands-on role involves performing detailed in-process and final product inspections, coordinating with production teams, and ensuring our quality standards are met consistently. The Lead Technician will serve as the primary quality contact on shift, supporting the Plant Manager and guiding team compliance with established quality processes.

In addition to inspection and reporting responsibilities, this individual will also serve as a team lead. They will be responsible for providing day-to-day oversight of quality-related activities on the shift, supporting and guiding team members, and ensuring quality checks are consistently built into daily workflows. This role will promote a culture of accountability by encouraging team members to verify the quality of their own work as part of routine operations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hose production, excellent organizational and leadership skills, and a proactive approach to maintaining quality and safety in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Shift Leadership & Support

Serve as the quality lead during the 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM shift, supporting team members and acting as the point of contact for quality-related questions or concerns.

Team Oversight & Workflow Integration

Provide day-to-day oversight of quality-related activities on the shift.

Ensure quality checks are integrated into team workflows and promote individual accountability by encouraging team members to verify the quality of their own work.

Data Entry & Documentation

Accurately input quality-related data into systems.

Maintain comprehensive and organized quality records.

In-Process & Final Inspections

Perform inspections during various stages of the hose production process.

Verify that finished products meet all specifications before release.

Nonconformance & Corrective Actions

Identify and document nonconforming products or processes.

Initiate and communicate corrective actions as needed.

Product Verification & Compliance

Ensure product quantity and specifications are correct prior to shipment.

Remove API monograms from nonconforming products, as applicable.

Tagging & Product Holds

Apply Hold or Reject tags to noncompliant or suspect products.

SOPs & Procedure Adherence

Ensure team follows all standard operating procedures and quality guidelines.

Demonstrate working knowledge of company procedures and documentation.

Preferred Skills & Training

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills

Clear written and verbal communication

Auditor training or experience preferred

Legible handwriting for quality documentation

Excellent time management and organizational abilities

Education & Training

High School Diploma or GED

Completion of company onboarding and indoctrination programs

Successful completion of all required safety training

Solid understanding of NRP’s Quality Management System and processes

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in hose production or a quality assurance-related role.

Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and quality control processes.

Proficiency in accurate data entry and record-keeping.

Proven ability to work independently and take initiative during shift coverage.
