Description:

The Laboratory Supervisor assists Manager and Administrative Director of the department with the day to day operations of the histology section; utilizes working knowledge of instruments and procedures in Histology to process, embed, cut, coverslip, and stain histology specimens with speed and accuracy. Prepares frozen sections other special staining procedures. Keeps abreast of advancements made in Histology. Processes specimens from geriatric and adult. Reflects the current legal, ethical and professional judgements about the quality of work being performed.

Also includes monitoring daily quality control and quality assurance; evaluating laboratory methodologies, protocols and techniques; overseeing care, maintenance, and utilization of department equipment, supplies, and inventories. Prepares department for accrediting agency inspections.

Education
