Director of Data Science NLP, LLM, and GenAI

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy Development: Craft and implement strategies for ML modeling, LLM development, and fine-tuning to enhance model deployment and monitoring efficiency. Develop a comprehensive roadmap for NLP, LLM, and GenAI model development.

Model Design and Development: Lead the design and creation of custom ML, GenAI, NLP, and LLM models for AI ML pipelines, ensuring they meet all technical and business requirements.

Model Evaluation: Collaborate with the MLOps team to maintain robust evaluation tools, ensuring model performance, accuracy, and reliability. Implement optimizations to improve system efficiency.

Model Deployment: Oversee the deployment of machine learning models into production environments, ensuring reliability and scalability.

Internal Collaboration: Work closely with product teams, business stakeholders, MLOps, machine learning engineers, and software engineers to integrate machine learning models smoothly into production systems.

Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with business and PM stakeholders in roadmap planning and implementation, ensuring alignment with business requirements.

Mentorship: Recruit, develop, and mentor AI/ML, NLP, LLM, and GenAI talent, fostering professional growth and development.

Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of ML modeling processes for reference and knowledge sharing.

Standards and Best Practices: Ensure adherence to standards, governance, and best practices in ML model development.

Problem Solving: Troubleshoot complex issues related to machine learning model development and data pipelines, developing innovative solutions.

What Were Looking For:

Ph.D. (preferred), Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computational Linguistics, Engineering, or a related field.

10+ years of professional experience with large sets of structured and unstructured data to develop data-driven analytics and insights using ML and NLP.

4+ years of hands-on experience with Python, Hugging Face, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, Spark, or similar tools.

5+ years of experience developing NLP models, ideally with transformer architectures.

Experience with implementing information search and retrieval at scale, using solutions ranging from keyword search to semantic search using embeddings.

Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with developing or tuning Large Language Models (LLM) and Generative AI (GenAI).

Proven ability to create reports, projections, models, and presentations to support business goals.

Independent judgment and decision-making skills on complex technical and business issues.

Experience mentoring junior ML scientists.

Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder management skills.

Strategic thinker with demonstrated technical and business acumen and problem-solving skills.

Familiarity with trends in LLMs and open-source platforms.

Nice to have: Experience contributing to GitHub and open-source initiatives or research projects.

Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):

Anticipated base salary range: $180,000 - $225,000, based on geographical location, experience, and qualifications.

Eligible for an annual incentive plan.
