Nomad Donuts Bakery & Cafe is looking for a talented, experienced, creative Pastry Cook to scratch make our award-winning bagels for our in-house café and wholesale business! We are looking for a dependable and well-rounded, fast paced & fun individual that wants to learn and explore their creativity. Nomad Donuts was established in 2014 and has won multiple awards for "Best Donuts" and "Best Bagels" in San Diego. We are also known as a great place to work!

Job Duties

Job duties include, but are not limited to, yeast dough production for bagels and bagel baking. We pride ourselves on keeping our café extremely clean and require all Nomad employees to participate in daily cleaning tasks as well as weekly and monthly deep cleaning. We are looking for candidates for a full-time position. You must be willing and able to work early mornings, weekends and holidays

Compensation

Café employees start at $18.50 - $20.00 per hour, depending on experience, and make an average of $4 - $5 an hour in tips. We also give all employees one free meal each day and free coffee beverages while they are on the clock.

Job Qualifications

Minimum of 1-2 years experience in pastry and dessert, yeast dough production REQUIRED.

Bagel knowledge a plus.

Regular attendance and punctuality are essential.

Assume responsibility for specific tasks assigned daily.

Awareness that product quality is the primary focus.

Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication skills.

Must be a cooperative, considerate team member.

Possesses an enthusiastic, polite, and friendly demeanor.

Ability to demonstrate flexibility and team spiritedness by willingness to perform all “as needed” tasks throughout production and to assist in all special projects.

Must be able to stand and/or walk for an entire shift.

Must be trainable in operating various types of equipment safely to perform job duties.

Ability to properly lift 50 pounds regularly throughout shift along with ability to push and pull up to 100 pounds.

Ability to repeatedly stoop, kneel and crouch throughout shift.

Must be hard-working and detail oriented.

Good sense of time management.

Weekend and holiday availability.
